Contrariwise, if rainforests, seagrass meadows and other ecosystems regenerate/are regenerated, carbon capture accelerates. Not sure about how absolute carbon capture is, but marine scientists I have spoken to seem upbeat.
This is amazing, but how permanent is the carbon sequestered by the seagrass? Especially if the areas keep diminishing in size.
